The end of COVID-19?

How much longer until the "COVID-19" issue is wrapped up, do you think? Vaccines are getting rushed out and it seems like more businesses are re-opening where I live.

The longer term ramifications of the year we spent in pandemic are hard to estimate; I do predict the housing market to be affected the most. And it seems as though we'll see a shift toward more "work from home" jobs, as well as automation for things like cars, grocery shopping, food production, etc.

it seems as though the third world will likely face the most long-term ramifications by the disruption of society ...

I will be attending an anti-lockdown protest meeting today, not because I believe in the cause, but because I'm interested to see the other side of the issue. This incredibly lukewarm lockdown we have in America is also disappointing me, so accelerating the tendencies seems good to me (and I don't believe a one-off peaceful protest will affect the status quo in any meaningful way).

I personally enjoy working from home. I have been doing it the past year, and it has overall been an improvement to my mental health. My organization is currently trying to go back in person, but I am now looking for other jobs that would allow my to continue working from home.
I miss concerts, but other than that, I am happy sitting at home with my computer or watching movies on the couch, and cooking for myself.

Are you actually locked down where you are? Where I am, nothing is actually locked down, but you are required to wear face masks and businesses have limited operating capacity. How did it go? Was it more a protest against masks?

I have not gotten the vaccine yet, even though it was offered to me through my employer. I am being paranoid. I am not anti-vaccine; however, I do not entirely trust it to not have long-term negative effects (such as impacting fertility)

Well, about 16 months later since this bug got out, but my state is more or less re-opened. Cases are down, and there's a high rate of vaccination. The luxury unemployment benefits are getting shut off now. Mass evictions are occurring...
